For the last couple months I’ve been keeping an eye on my Feedburner email subscriber count. When I looked last month, I was at almost at 1000 subscribers, I was super excited but I was about to hold a super fabulous giveaway! A few days later I looked and it went way down to 272 subscribers! Two days ago it went all the way down to 62, then today it’s back up to the 272!!!
I have done some research on Google in regards to Feedburner Subscriber Count Changing and it seems it’s a glitch when it goes down a little bit, the next day or so it will always return to normal again. Well NOT in my case! I lost 733 Email Subscribers through Feedburner in the last month and a half. It’s not returning to “normal”. What the hell is going on?
I’m actually pretty pissed off about this as I worked hard to gain all of my email subscribers and to only have them ripped away in what feels like a few days SUCKS:( I feel like all my hard work has just flown right out the window! I’ve also noticed Feedburner doesn’t always send out emails like they are supposed to when someone becomes an email subscriber. Now I know how everyone in the WordPress world truly felt when Google Friend Connect was discontinued. UGH!
I’m thankful however that it stayed with those on Blogger. But that will probably change down the road too! Sigh… This Feedburner issue is all over Google search and that makes me nervous. I am currently in the process of researching Feedburner alternatives that are actually worth signing up for, that let you transfer your current feed subscribers over so they aren’t lost.
Have you ever had this issue? Do you use a different RSS Feed Publisher other than Feedburner?
