I was going to make a Youtube video for this post, but I decided not to because I am not ready to be a Youtube sensation just yet! I currently wear prescription glasses. For the longest time I’ve wanted to try contact lenses but honestly the thought of putting them in my eyes freaked me out. I had so many questions and got so many different opinions, kinda like when you ask a woman “Does giving birth hurt?” Ha! Everyone has a different opinion! I was contacted by by Angel Contacts and asked if I would be interested in trying out their circle lenses. To put an end to all my questions, I decided to go for it.
Angel Contacts was launched and based in both Vancouver and Toronto, Canada in 2010 and specialize in GEO Circle contact lenses. These cosmetic lenses are great for enhancing your eyes on any occasion.
What Are Circle Lenses?
GEO circle lenses are cosmetic contacts, which come in a variety of styles and colours. The lenses are 14mm in diameter, which means they give you a natural and noticeable enlargement to your iris. The result is the appearance of a bigger, wider iris and creates an illusion of large eyes. The optical zone in the middle is transparent and it is large enough to provide clear vision. Angel Contacts GEO circle lenses are Health Canada certified and US FDA 510(K) approved and completely safe to wear! These lenses were first popular in Asia and now all over the world.
The lovely Brenda from Angel Contacts sent me a couple pairs of circle lenses to try out. I chose the GEO Nudy Blue Circle Lens and the GEO OL VIOLET Circle Lens.
I have sensitive eyes that can be a little dry at times, so I was a little skeptical about how my eyes would take to wearing these lenses. I was so excited to finally own a set of contact lens, that I didn’t want to be disappointed with not being able to wear them. The circle lenses came in two separate vials, along with two lens cases. Also included was an instruction pamphlet on how to properly put the lenses in, how to care for them as well as safety information, a business card and a thank you card.
On the back of the thank you card it shows you how to open the vials. Fabulous idea! I didn’t realize this until after I was trying to figure out how to open the darn thing! LOL! Very helpful for any newbies 😛
I honestly couldn’t wait to put these lenses in and try them out. But I do admit as a first time contact lens wearer, I was still a bit nervous. Nervous at the thought of possibly poking my eye out, nervous about putting something in there, you name it, I had it all running through my head. Finally I said enough is enough. It really can’t be that bad? Can it? So many people wear them, now here’s your chance to go for it and get a whole new eye colour! So off I went on a mission….
To my surprise I had the lenses in place in under 2 minutes. Of course now that I got the hang of it a few weeks in, I’m a whole lot faster! 😉 I had this idea that it was gonna be a lot more difficult then it actually was. It was actually a very simple process. I put them in looking downwards, I blinked a few times and they set in place. After about 10 seconds I couldn’t feel them anymore. Mission accomplished! SIMPLE! After all these years of wondering what it would be like to wear contacts, I finally got the nerve to try them out! Hey, If a scaredy cat like me can do it, so can you!
GEO Nudy Blue Circle Lens: This series gives a light textured look for natural, defined eyes.
My natural eye colour is Hazel. I chose Nudy Blue because I’ve always wanted blue eyes. But nothing to crazy or bright. I wanted them to look as natural as possible yet make my eyes pop. This colour definitely gave me what I asked for. Plus they were super comfortable to wear. I honestly forgot I was wearing them at one point. These almost look like a sea green/sea blue to me, in certain lighting. Maybe I’m going colour blind? Either way, I am in love with the colour and I think they definitely made my eyes stand out more than they already do, which I didn’t think was possible. They felt and looked so natural. A friend told me I had a “doll eyes” thing goin’ on. I thought that was really cool.
GEO OL VIOLET Circle Lens: This series adds spice to your eyes, with elegant yet subtle colours.
The true colour was hard to capture on camera. With a flash they look really purple. Without flash, my camera decided not to cooperate and they ended up looking brown as you can see in the photo below to the left. These lenses are a true violet colour and lighter than what you see in the photos. They look very natural just like the Nudy Blue ones and are just as comfortable to wear. These lenses are a little more dramatic, yet subtle at the same time. Not over bearing or bright at all. Perfect for a night out on the town with a dramatic smoky eye. Super classy look, that will not go unnoticed.
Angel Contacts also carries prescription lenses as well. However I decided not to go with prescription for my first time wearing them, until I speak to my optometrist. I have a slight astigmatism in my right eye, so I don’t want to make it any worse by wearing contacts that aren’t the proper prescription. Makes sense right?
Angel Contacts offers the following circle lenses in prescription form ( -7.00 to 0)

My overall experience with Angel Contacts GEO Circle lenses has been wonderful. Brenda was very helpful and friendly, answering any questions I had being a first time lens wearer. Thanks again Brenda! I absolutely love these circle lenses! I definitely recommend this company!
