The holiday season is here! Between Christmas shopping, wrapping gifts, planning Christmas dinner with family, visiting friends and attending holiday parties, things are about to get crazy! In the midst of all the holiday madness though, I will always make sure that I find the time to ‘give back’ to those in need and continue to show my full support towards causes that are near and dear to me.
This year, McCain Foods Canada is planning to make a difference in the lives of countless Canadians with their #McCainShareGood campaign and needs your help! Show your support and win some great prizes! Keep reading to find out how!
I don’t think I’ve ever shared this on the blog, but when I was a child, there were a few times when my mother, who raised me as a single parent, relied on The Food Bank during tough times to feed the both of us. Even with her working a full-time job and getting a second one, the pay wasn’t good enough to consistently provide for both of us. I feel truly blessed and very thankful that things eventually turned around.
My mom had met a wonderful man and found a good paying job. We didn’t need to rely on the Food Bank for help anymore. However every year, there is a staggering number of people throughout Canada that still do. We are all well aware that there are many Canadian families this year who are going to face great difficulty in putting gifts under the tree for their little ones this year or even food on their tables to feed their families.
Did you know?…
According to the 2014 Food Banks Canada Donor Impact Report, more than 4 million Canadians don’t know where their next meal is coming from. In the coming year, McCain Foods Canada will donate one million dollars worth of food and monetary support to Food Banks Canada, and help fill the plates of those in need.”
We all know how much good can come from helping others, so this holiday season, from November 19 – December 23, McCain Foods is donating $5 to Food Banks Canada, up to $50,000, for every good news story shared using #McCainShareGood on Twitter or by tagging the McCain Foods Canada Facebook page. Share something good and help the hungry, now that’s something to feel good about!
My Good News: Today I smiled at a random person walking down the street, just because. #McCainShareGood
