Makeup

It may seem like a scary prospect to take charge of your makeup on your wedding day but by experimenting and with lots of practice, even a makeup novice can pull this off.

Step one: Get obsessed with scouring the web, wedding blogs and magazines for makeup looks that you love. Narrow down your selection to your top five.

Step two: Equip yourself with the necessary tools and products. If you need to buy new or improved products for this step, set yourself a budget. You will probably want to avoid spending more than you would for a professional makeup artist.

Step three: Experiment! Try out each of your top five looks. Don’t pick something purely because it looks different. The most important thing is that you feel amazing. And second to this, you must find it easy to apply. Ask trusty family and friends to give you their honest opinion. If you are not happy with any of the looks, don’t panic. Just keep experimenting with the other styles you picked out in step one.

Step four: Practice, practice, practice until you can apply the look in your sleep.

Step five: Create an action plan for the day of your marriage. Remember you will be a bundle of excitement and nerves when the day arrives so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to apply your makeup. If you think you will be too nervous, ask your bridesmaids to help out on the day.

Hair

This is often a bit more tricky to pull off on your own. Do ask members of your bridal party to help. After all that is what they are there for!

Step one and step two: Follow the same steps as you did for your makeup. Avoid complicated styles, unless you are a pro. The most beautiful and elegant wedding hairstyles are often the most simple.

Step three: This is also the stage to start experimenting. It can be awkward and frustrating to do this alone, so this is another time when you should call on your trusty bridal party. Make sure you have a good mirror setup so that you can see the style from all angles.

Step four: Practice makes perfect.

Step five: As with your makeup, you’ll need to plan ahead for the big day. Work out how long it will take you to do your hair and what help you will need to get it done.

Nails

With everything else you have to think about; guests lists, wedding invites, decorations, minor elements like your nails may get neglected. However, it is simple and quick to ensure you have pretty hands.

Step one: Pick a nail colour and style that is in keeping with your overall look.

Step two: Experiment until you find your perfect nails.

Step three: The night before your wedding, set aside some time for a little hand TLC. Exfoliate, buff and moisturize your hands and nails. Finally, apply your varnish.

Body

See this article on how to get beautiful skin on your wedding day.

Presto! You are going to be a stunning bride!
