Sound weird? Probably, but did you know if you match your lipstick with your hair color, you can look absolutely amazing! In order to do this, you need to learn that different hair colors need different lipstick shades. Also, by factoring in your skin tone and matching it with your hair color, you will find the perfect lipstick shade for you.
If you have naturally red hair or have dyed it, try a lipstick shade with violet undertones. These shades will frame your face and bring out the red in your hair even more. If you have a warm skin tone, go with brighter shades of red or orange. It will create a more vibrant look and make all your gorgeous features pop!
If you have a cooler skin tone, and want to make your teeth look whiter, don’t be afraid to put on blue toned red lipsticks or darker reds, like berry or plum shades. It will balance and accent the right features on your face.
For Brown Hair
If you have a cool skin tone (pale and blue eyes) and have natural brown hair or like to dye your hair in chocolate tones, don’t be afraid to go bold! Go with hot pink or red shades or coral.
Those of you with warmer skin tones who tend to tan quickly, look for deep apricot or peach shades. Go for lighter tones, but only if you have light brown hair. If you have dark eyes and brown hair, you can pretty much choose any shade of red but a brown shade is great because it matches everything. Brunettes who have brown eyes, can pull off mostly all shades since brown is a neutral color.
For Black Hair
Have you been gifted with black hair and a warm skin tone? You can pull off red lipsticks with a brown base no problem. Find brown based shades by looking for products that have the words “deep orange”, “golden red” or “coral” written on them. If you have a cool skin tone, go for cherry reds, burgundy or plum shades.
For Blonde Hair
Finally, if you’re blonde with a warm skin tone, you can pull off coral-red, orange-red or even copper reds. Mostly all shades of red work well with blonde hair. Create a super cool and sexy Marilyn Monroe-like look and feel like a superstar!
Those of you with cool skin tones try pink, lighter reds or rose shades with the undertone of blue. These lighter tones will create a nice icy look and won’t overcome your pale complexion.
