Though there’s still snow on the ground here in Edmonton, spring is very much in the air! Warmer temps mean it’s time to bust open the windows open and let in the fresh air. During the winter, the windows in our apartment tend to freeze shut. So it’s nice we can open the windows again to help get rid of the stale winter air. The sun is shining, the snow is melting, and the birds are singing.
Our fur-babies are happy being able to sit in the windows again. They love to bask in the fresh air, warm sunshine and watch the world outside. While the chatter as soon as they see birds is entertaining. It also adds excitement to a new season. 😀 The first day of spring is less than a week away. So it’s the perfect time to get a head start on the cleaning. Nothing is more satisfying than a fresh, clean start and spring cleaning sure helps with that.
The entryway into our apartment is full of clutter and winter gear. Things that should be in storage have found a new home at the front door. Our living-room is disorganized, and the kitchen could use a good deep cleaning. The biggest obstacle is our apartment entryway leading into the kitchen.
Mojo and Rascal spend a lot of time there; they love laying on the cool kitchen floor. And hubby has a tenancy of not putting his wet, dirty work boots on the shoe mat we recently purchased. Between the cat hair, puddles from wet shoes and gravel the linoleum floor can become a hot mess, fast. I try to wash the floors at least once a week, but Spring is when I like taking the extra time to deep clean every room. Getting down and dirty in every nook and cranny of our home.
Farewell winter, hello new spring beginnings!
Diving into deep cleaning mode, opening all the windows and cranking up the tunes, is a must! For me, it helps make cleaning less daunting and more therapeutic. I start off by tackling the most critical cleaning tasks first, using the best tools for the job. It’s crazy how much dust and clutter has built up in our apartment during the winter months. When the sun shines in through our windows, I can see all the cat hair, dust bunnies, and dirt much more clearly.
The only carpet we have is in the living room and bedroom. The rest of our apartment is linoleum. Our old mop was well used but needed replacing as it was beginning to wear. It was also on the small side for me. Washing the floors took a great deal of time. I needed something that covers more surface area, making cleaning time more productive.
On a recent shopping trip to Canadian Tire, I picked up the Libman Tornado Mop to help me get started on spring cleaning.
Embrace Life’s Messes with the Libman Tornado Mop
The Tornado Mop works great, is simple to use and easy to clean. The mop head material is a thick polyester yarn, absorbent and well designed. The wringing mechanism on the Tornado Mop is easy as pie, the unique ratchet design allows for maximum wringing without the hassle of release buttons, or the annoying tendency of a regular mop head to flip back. The ratchet wringing mechanism slides with ease and locks and holds with each twist squeezing every bit of water out. No need to worry about sopping wet floors and your hands never have to touch the mop water.
Refill Tornado mop heads are affordable and when taken care of, last a while. To clean, take off the mop head, and hand wash in the sink. Or put it into a mesh bag and place it in the washing machine with a load of towels on the warm cycle. The Tornado Mop is a great cleaning tool that gets the job done.
It’s no wonder the Tornado Mop is America’s bestselling mop. With a bigger mop head, you can cover 50% more surface area to get the job done faster and done right. The three green bands prevent tangling while polyester yarn resists odour-causing bacteria making it the ideal mop for any surface.”
You can find Libman cleaning supplies at your local Canadian Tire or Home Depot stores. The aisles are labelled making it easy to find the items you need. The Libman Tornado Mop, Wonder Mop, refill mop heads, utility buckets, brooms, dustpans, and other cleaning items from Libman were all in the same aisle, so I was able to get everything I needed to start my spring cleaning at Canadian Tire.
Our home feels much cleaner when the floors get a good mopping! I used the Libman Tornado Mop to scrub the dirt from the linoleum floors in our entryway, kitchen, and the bathroom. Having a tidy, organized home makes me happy. The fresh smell and knowing our fur-babies are walking around in a clean, healthy space puts my mind at ease.
I’m delighted with the results I get from the Libman Tornado mop, and I look forward to another spring cleaning day. Mopping the floors used to feel overwhelming, now removing all the dirt, dust bunnies, and cat hair off the floors take a lot less time! The next room to tackle spring cleaning will be the living room!
